Does Google Think I Want a Rabbit?

This month I stumbled upon the search history for our company wide Google account. The data it contained was mostly mundane except someone looking for ‘rabbit care’. Google have announced this month that it’s only ‘privacy concerns’ that’s preventing them from using this data to gear search results to you. Sharing accounts in this fashion could lead to some interesting products being offered to you.
Amit Singhal of Google announced this month that he wanted to develop ‘searching without searching’. This service will present recommendations for your wife’s birthday based upon her search preferences and automatically alert you in time to order for her birthday without you even needing to go near the search box.

Already Google’s search history inflates results if you’ve clicked on the link before; the next step for them is to present different results based on whether you’re looking for a ‘bunny rabbit’ or a ‘cypher rabbit’ based on the type of person they think you are.
Just for the record though; I don’t want a rabbit…
