June 2010 Product of the Month
iPhone 4 with iOS4

From the front it looks very similar to the iPhone3, but turn it slightly and it’s sharper edges immediately give it away.
It ships with a new operating system iOS 4; bringing a whole host of new features from multitasking (meaning that your Spotify music stream won’t stop when you try to check your mail), to folders affording a better way to organise your growing number of ‘Apps’, wireless keyboard support, digital zoom and the ability to personalise your phone further have all been added.
iOS 4 though has also been added for your iPhone3GS so don’t rush out and buy a new phone if you’re only trying to keep the music playing instead just perform a software update on your iPhone and you’ll be in multi-tasking heaven.
The hardware on the iPhone4 though, may be enough to sway you if you’re a swing purchaser between the HTC Desire and iPhone, the iPhone4 now has;
- An incredible screen, twice the clarity of the 3GS and higher than even the HTC HD2
- Proprietary video calling (though only to other iPhone4 users)
- A much better camera (5 megapixel)
- High definition video recording
- A more accurate accelerometer & gyroscope (so you’ll probably start seeing iPhone4 only Apps)
- 2 hours of extra talk time (taking it the Apple quoted 7 hours in total)
- 10 extra hours of music playback (taking it to the Apple quoted 40 hours in total)
- Up to 32GB of storage
- Comes in white as well as black
It still doesn’t have the ability to change the battery, nor does it have the ability to add more memory. You’re locked into the Apps store, and it’s still not fully web compatible. These though are minor gripes when compared against all the added features that have been added.
It's available on o2 from the 24th June
