Shortcuts are King!

Ever got tired of repeatedly typing in the same address or clicking through to the same folder, make the popular place always at your figer tips.

Windows Vista now makes your shortcuts easy to find in your user folder. Just open your user folder from your desktop or your start menu

You now have two folders; links and favourites

Open the ‘links’ folder, all you have to do is drag and drop the file location you regularly access into this folder and from now on it will always appear on the ‘Favourite Links’ section on the right

Whether your opening a word document, or browsing for a file, you’ve just saved yourself a few clicks a day :)

To take advantage of a similar feature in Internet Explorer, simply open the your user folder from your desktop or your start menu

You now have two folders; this time click on Favourites

This shows you a list of your standard favourites folder, but inside there is a special folder called ‘Favourites Bar’ opne this up and then start dragging and dropping Internet Explorer www addresses to compile your shortcuts

Next open Internet Explorer and make sure your ‘favourites bar’ is on, simply right click on the bar at the top and make sure there is a tick next to ‘favourites bar’

After this the links you added to your favourites bar folder should now appear across the top

Once your ‘favourites bar’ is on (or if you have Windows XP so can’t find the fodlers above :( then you can simply drag and drop addresses from the address bar to the favourites bar and rearrange them in the same way

Now you won’t even have to open your favourites to find your top sites, just click on the button directly under the address bar
