Microsoft turn up late to the UI party but with one hell of a cake!

For the last 2 years Apple and Nintendo have been pushing the boundaries with user interface with the iPhone and Wii while Microsoft failed to make much of an appearance. Now though they have kicked in the door and thrown down the gauntlet with the full body, voice recognising, emotion reading interface that is Natal.

With supporters such as Spielberg and the legend that is Peter Molynuex it’s a technology to watch this year. Just check out Lionhead’s demo with the user handing the computer a piece of paper like you would a co-worker.

While it probably won’t replace your mouse just yet (so don’t worry about your colleges jumping around next to you) it’s certainly a giant leap in how people interact with computers; and straight to your living room. Check it out here.

On a more business orientated note check out Microsoft’s latest innovation in interacting with your mobile phone by gesturing around it.
