O2 Joggler

Forget the new GoogleOS, the future of Linux for the home user is here. It’s a multimedia platform at a rock bottom price that allows you to do everything form check directions, to surfing the web to watching movies and listening to music. O2 have licenced a work of wonder.

You can either get the version from O2 (bizarrely marketed as a digital calendar) here for £7.5 per month or the more flexible OpenFrame for £200.

Both the Joggler and the OpenFrame offer a calendar, news, weather and traffic info. They also offer streaming music, videos and pictures from your PC/Mac. The OpenFrame also offers additional apps for things like YouTube, Flickr, and even the ability to use it to control your TV. Microsoft tried to break into the lower cost market with things like ‘Windows Embedded’, but this new incarnation of Ubuntu shows that they have a battle on their hands if they want play the multimedia game.
