December 2008
Most clients and many of the team survived our Christmas Party at a funky bar in Shoreditch, though there was 1 Engineer who didn’t make it in at all the next day! Due to a cold they say...
As we expected, it was a huge night with around 140 people coming along to meet the team and help us celebrate a very successful year. Thank you to Roberta who organised most of it, and Matt and the crew at Road Trip (who kindly let us take over their bar for the night).

November 2008
November was quite a month for us. Not only did Sam Yatim start as our latest Senior Engineer, but Simon Lacey also started, as a Junior Engineer.
Then, just as we were filing away our recruitment material for the year we got a call from Mohammed Azim – who was an I.T. Manager in Leeds until he started his one-person I.T. support & consulting business a year ago, upon moving to London. Tom and Troy were extremely impressed with Mohammed, so much so we made room for him in our little business.
We weren’t looking for a Service Delivery Manager, let alone another team member, but as Jim Collins says in his superb book Good To Great:
“People are not your most important asset. The right people are.
Get the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats.”
We built a seat on the bus for Mohammed, he started as our Service Delivery Manager late in the month. We’re now up to 11 people :)

What credit crunch!? We haven't really noticed The Crunch , apart from a few clients sneakily dragging out payment. It seems you all still need your technology to work :)
In fact, if anything, we have found an increase in small businesses enquiring about what we do and offer. It seems when they look at cutting costs and staff, one of the first roles they scrutinise is the full-time I.T. person – “do we really need them for 35-40 hours a week!?”.
We are busier than ever, which is fantastic, but so as to keep our promise to our existing clients – of not dropping our service levels as we grow, we have been recruiting like mad! We are in final discussions with several great Engineers.
We have also started the search for an Operations Manager, so if you know anyone that wants to join a fast-growing and fun technology company (and they know their debit from their credit!), please ask them to get in touch with Troy our GM, and he'll send through the job ad.

Boris may want to turn London into the ‘WiFi capital’, but we, or rather our brand new exciting partners BT and Fon are already putting his words into action and covering the London in wireless hotspots.

The premise is pure genius. Essentially it allows anyone in the BT Fon community to use any other members' internet connection (securely of course) anywhere in the world, and all you have to do to join? Simply get a FREE BT Fon router and get surfing. With over 1,000,000 members worldwide, and with help from Lucidica for installations, it couldn’t be better or easier.
