Protect your data with TrueCrypt

TrueCrypt 7; laptop data protection/encryption released last week

It’s free, it’s cross platform and it installs in under 3 mins. If you’re worried about leaving your laptop on a train then get yourself over to TrueCrypt to add ‘secret service’ level encryption.

You can choose to encrypt everything or just a virtual drive on your computer. You can even get TrueCrypt to scramble the data on the virtual drive giving you plausible deniability that there is any data there at all should you have a gun to your head.

You can choose different encryption algorithms or even put one algorithm on top of another. This should be enough to fox even Turing and his Bletchley Park entourage.
